Nurse

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. My name is Ashlee and I have recently started working at Sirius College as the school nurse. I have previously worked in the hospital setting on surgical and paediatric wards. I am thoroughly looking forward to working alongside the wonderful teachers and students of Sirius College.

A few points to remember for the year ahead

• Please make sure that we are all washing our hands with soap and warm water to prevent the spread of germs.
• If your child does become unwell please keep them home from school until they are well enough to return. This means a minimum of 24hrs symptom free for infectious illnesses (vomiting/diarrhoea) or without a fever
• Please make sure that your child eats a nutritious breakfast before school so that they have the energy to focus and learn in class
• Ask your child to help prepare their lunchbox the night before, ensure healthy snack options are available
• Please return asthma/allergy/anaphylaxis action plans asap

Grade 1

In Maths Year 1B students focused on skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s using mini cubes and popsticks to make a group of hundred. They collaborated and discussed the counting strategy implemented.

Grade 2

Grade 2A students have settled in well into their new classes and we are looking forward to an exciting year ahead. This year students will work towards their goal, be self-disciplined, practise every day at school and at home, don’t give up when it gets difficult and be organised.
